Sherlock Holmes convention in Atlanta, GA that aims to celebrate the literary works of Arthur Conan Doyle, as well as related media, while fostering community among Sherlockian enthusiasts and promoting literacy and learning.
My role:
Co-founder and board member
I, as a member of a 5 person board of directors, founded 221b Con in 2013 and have been working to continue to deliver a quality annual event. I currently coordinate a staff of 50 volunteers on site and solicit items for our silent charity auction. I also work behind the scenes attending board meetings, representing the convention at related events, and helping to promote and generate enthusiasm through varying forms of media, including social and print.
Dragon Con is the world’s largest multi-media pop culture convention, held annually in Atlanta, GA over Labor Day weekend.
My role:
Volunteer Staff on the British Media Track (Brittrack)
I began working for Dragon*Con in 2011 as a member of the Brittrack staff. Working closely with other staffers I help to ensure smooth running of programming through crowd control and panel moderation. This includes clearing and filling panel rooms, creating talking points for discussions, and attending and monitoring official late night parties.
